Hello!

I'm a seventh generation native (North) Floridian, which is rare in a state full of transplants. My mother's family settled on the banks of the Little River in Gadsden County several years before Florida became a state. Therefore, my roots run deep in this community and it's something I never take for granted.

As someone who grew up around a family with a long history of great story telling, outdoor pursuits and love for all forms of southern food, my passion for the world and people around me is something I try to express in my artwork. From the gulf waters of St. Teresa to the back roads of Gadsden and Leon Counties, I have always felt more at home outside in the places where my ancestors walked, worked, fished and thrived. I am constantly inspired by these places and it's people, and I hope you enjoy viewing them on paper as much as I have loved painting them.

I'd like to give special thanks to my husband, Jason, who always makes me feel like there is nothing I can't do and supports all of my artistic craziness. I'd also like to thank my three boys AJ, John, and Henry for whom AJOHEN Co. is named after (three boys names combined) and for being the reason I breath.  - Laura Winn
